Can’t think of a good title…

Well what’s just happened.

It has only just occurred to me that for years I have been an idiot. Cynical about people’s relationships and my own and thought I was stuck. Then what happens is my wife decides that we should separate and get a divorce…. ah? OK. And that was that… easy!

I have just completed the filming of a series for BBC Alba about love and relationships and after filming most of the couples I thought to myself ….”it won’t last, they never do”…. What a terrible thing to think, what a horrible person I was. And it was just me,… it was because I couldn’t remember a time when someone was pleased to see me or kissed me goodbye or even just a hug….I really don’t remember (Lily doesn’t count nor do you Kenny).

Now something has changed… in me!.. I’m in reach of a happier time (I think) and it’s something that until now I have ignored or thought I didn’t need.

So for the people that know me you will see a happier Rick, I’m already starting to do again the things I used to like, the music I will make more of and the cycling I will go further and faster (maybe) and I will be painting soon too.

Why did I stop painting? Why did I stop cycling? Why did I not play my guitar for nearly 20 years?

Ann An Gaol Day 1

Arrived in Inverness on Saturday night and met with the rest of the crew Gregor, Mairi and Chris…. bored with this already, it’s now Monday morning and we get the ferry to Lewis today, the last time I was there it was a Sunday and nothing was open, after driving all over the island trying to find something to eat and failing I ended up back at the guest house where Mrs Mackay the owner kindly offered to make us lunch… a honey sandwich! Two slices of white bread and honey! That was it a honey sandwich.
This week Marcus, Gregor and I will be sharing a self catering cottage for four nights in Stornoway.
